ProjectPURR Grand Opening

Some of the beautiful kittens ready for a forever home.

Today was the open house for Project Purr-AL.  As most of you know, this is an organization that Brit was VERY involved with before she moved to Montgomery for law school.  Because of her, I started painting the cat paintings and donating many of these to PPAR for auctions to raise money to help with the shelter.  I really enjoyed meeting so many of the volunteers today and seeing all of their hard work.  These are some awesome people who give of their time and money to help rescue cats and kittens who are homeless and give them a second at chance at life.

Below are a few of the photos taken from today.

This little beauty was adopted today.
Sophia and Ivy.
These are two of the "Purr Girls" who help out.  A bake sale and raffle was held today to help with the vet bill.

Paintings to be raffled off today.

This is Adam Levine.  (Named by Ivy)  I love this cat.
I was not the only one liking Adam.  This little visitor also liked him.

I even got in a little cat love today.

If you were not able to come by today, you can still help out.  Go to the PPAR Facebook page or to the website.  There are many ways you can help out.

Thanks to PPAR for letting me into your world!!!  I think I have found many new friends!  You guys are awesome.

FINALLY FRIDAY

It's Finally Friday.  Seemed like such a LOOOONNNG week for a short week.

Landon sends you Hugs on a Friday.

See those beautiful blue eyes.  This is what greets Brit every day she comes home.  Thanks for putting a smile on her face.

He is even watching her to make sure she studies.

Thanks for looking out for Brit for us Landen.  We appreciate all your hard work keeping her straight.

If you need a Landen to keep you straight, Check out the Project Purr  Facebook page.  You can give a kitten a forever home just like Brit did for Landen.

Painting while riding out Issac

I spent my afternoon riding out Issac painting, which of course is one of my favorite things to do.  I saw a T-shirt on a friends Facebook wall earlier today and used it as inspirtation for this one.  Countdown to Saturday.  Ready for the Tide to Roll.

I also painted this one and I am donating it to the Project Purr Fall Acution.  Starts on Friday.  Be sure to go to the Facebook page, Project Purr Animal Rescue on Friday and check out all of the great things up for auction.  All proceeds go to a GREAT cause.

Landen & Blue

Landen loves Blue.  This is my painting of Landen watching Blue.  One day, he is going to get that fish.

Some of the many photos of Landen watching Blue.

Brit found Landen playing in her Book bag again.  If you look close, he has his stuffed puppy in the bag with him.

He thinks that the plant is a toy.  He has been caught.  Bad Cat.

Project Purr is getting ready for the Fall Auction.  Click here to see more info.

Have a great night everyone

More adventures of Landen

I have done several post in the past about Landen.  He is the cat the Brit adopted from Project Purr.  I look forward to Brit's pictures of his latest adventures
Aren't they both beautiful!!!!
"One day, I'm gonna get that fish"

Watching Shark Week.  LOL  That's a fish you can't get Landen.
Landen thought he was hiding and no one could see him.
Poor dog, never had a chance.
I think he wants to go to school with Brit or maybe he ate her homework?

If you want someone to love like Landen, go to Project Purr's Facebook page here and see all the beautiful purr babies that need a home.

FOR THE LOVE OF LANDON

I look forward to Brit's latest pictures of Landon.  That is one mischievous cat.  She was in a wedding this week-end and came down with a cold.  When she returned home, she had the tissue beside her.  Brit was playing on her phone and I guess Landon decided that since she had been gone all weekend and was not paying enough attention to him, he would get her attention.

But they still love each other.  He loves to sleep by her.

I love the photos of Brit and Landon.
 Look at this!!!  LOVE IT!!!!

Britt adopted Landon from Project Purr.  There are plenty other "Landon's" out there looking for a home. Go to their facebook page and see all the "Landon's" that need a home.

JIGSAW KITTY

This is my latest painting.  JIGSAW KITTY.  Donating this one to Project PURR  also.

This is from their website, below is their Mission.

They estimate that 3-4 million dogs and cats are euthanized each year because there is just no place for these sweet and loving companions. Animals love us unconditionally and in return we make it nearly impossible for them to find homes to love them back.
For every 10,000 human babies born in the U.S., there are more than 70,000 puppies and kittens born. One unspayed female cat and her offspring can produce 420,000 cats in just 7 years.
When we say we want our pets to have just a couple of litters to show our kids the beauty of giving birth, the effects are staggering. Every year, over 400,000 puppies and kittens are surrendered to shelters because their owners are unable to find them new homes.
Every day, shopping carts of puppies and kittens are being brought to shelters. There are just not enough homes for all these animals. However, we can become a part of the solution by spaying and neutering our own pets as well as teaching the next generation to spay and neuter their pets.
You can go to their website HERE to make a donation or find out how you can help.  Please check out their site on FACEBOOK at Project Purr Animal Rescue Adoptable Cats and Kittens.

Thanks

AWESOME FEELING OF GIVING

Yesterday, I blogged about Project PURR and the Auction they have going on right now to help raise money.  This is a wonderful non-profit was started in May of 2011 by Stacey Lavender and her daughter CeCe Comptonto save cats from being euthanized at Animal Shelters.  The organization provides care and adoption services for many homeless, abused and unwanted cats and kittens.  As a non-profit, PURR relies solely on volunteers and donations. "This is so important to me, as these animals need a voice and they cannot help themselves," said Lavender.

As most of my friends know, I paint just because I love too.  This is not something I make money on.  I have sold a few pieces in the past, but I mostly just paint for the fun (therapy) of it.  Brit was the one who got me to thinking about a way I could help.  She suggested donating a painting with proceeds going to PURR.  In May, she came over one evening and we painted this Funky Kitty.

I posted it on the Project PURR facebook page and someone bought it.  What a great feeling knowing that my Funky Kitty painting was helping.

Sunday night as I was cruising Facebook, I noticed that the Auction has started.  I send a message to Pam and she posted this painting Sunday Night.

By this morning, it had sold at the BUY IT NOW price of $50.00.  How cool is that!!!  I had decided last night to add Blue Kitty to the auction also.

Blue Kitty.

When I woke up this morning and saw that the 3 cats had sold, I decided to put Black Kitty up for "adoption" also.

If you would like to bid on either of these paintings or donate to Project PURR, please visit http://www.projectpurr-al.org/, on FACEBOOK, call 251.533.4770 or 251.300.1935 or email projectpurr@aol.com

PS

Landen's latest photo.  He is stalking Blue.
