Another rainy day

I went to run a few errands at lunch and captured this photo near the office.  Wicked, but beautiful.  It is still raining off and on thanks to Issac.  I guess I should not complain because we are not flooded, we have power and there have been no tornados.
From the looks of the radar, we still have more to come.

I am praying for all of family and friends in Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana who are still dealing with Issac and the destruction and damage he is causing.

Painting while riding out Issac

I spent my afternoon riding out Issac painting, which of course is one of my favorite things to do.  I saw a T-shirt on a friends Facebook wall earlier today and used it as inspirtation for this one.  Countdown to Saturday.  Ready for the Tide to Roll.

I also painted this one and I am donating it to the Project Purr Fall Acution.  Starts on Friday.  Be sure to go to the Facebook page, Project Purr Animal Rescue on Friday and check out all of the great things up for auction.  All proceeds go to a GREAT cause.

Grandview Pointe and Issac

When we moved back to Mobile from Baton Rouge in June of 2010, we lived at Grandview Pointe Apartments on Mobile Bay.  I had the most beautiful view of Mobile Bay.  Each morning was a blessing to watch the sun rise over the bay.  We made some great friends during our time there.  We stayed during Tropical Storm Lee last year and I loved watching the many moods of Mobile Bay.  I can't help but wonder how they are doing during Issac.

One of my good friends Kristen Perez shared some photos she has taken.  I put them with some photos I had taken in the past when we lived there to show the water rise on Mobile Bay

This is looking toward the Dog River Bridge from the front of the apartments

This is looking from the front parking lot as you come in the complex.

Tried to show how high the water is by showing the tree.
Here is a photo we took from the River Shack last year.  You can see the pier is completely submerged because of Issac

Speaking of the River Shack, Chelesa Richards took this one earlier this morning.

I just checked the rain gauge, (not that it is accurate because of the blowing rain) and we have had at least 5 inches and
the rain is still coming down.

Here's wishing all my friends and co-workers in Louisiana a safe ride with Issac.

Issac saying Hello

Issac is finally making his self know around our neck of the woods.  Thought I would share a few photos from FB that people are submitting.

This is Felix's on the Causeway

Another photo from the Causeway.

I will post more later.  The first strong rain band is just moving through.

Stay safe

Landen & Blue

Landen loves Blue.  This is my painting of Landen watching Blue.  One day, he is going to get that fish.

Some of the many photos of Landen watching Blue.

Brit found Landen playing in her Book bag again.  If you look close, he has his stuffed puppy in the bag with him.

He thinks that the plant is a toy.  He has been caught.  Bad Cat.

Project Purr is getting ready for the Fall Auction.  Click here to see more info.

Have a great night everyone

Go Away ISSAC!!!

This is how I feel!!!!  We finished getting everything together this evening to ride out the storm.  We needed a new battery for the generator and made our first shop a LOWE'S.  They were completely out.  So, since we need to stock up on a few more groceries, we went to Wal-Mart.  Crazy does not even cover the way that place was.  They did have 1, and only 1 of the batteries we needed for the generator.  The water, batteries, and bread was going quick, and canned meat GONE.  Nothing.

I was soo looking forward for an excuse to eat me some SPAM with Bacon.  That stuff is sooo good, but soo bad for me.  LOL  But no Spam of ANY KIND found on the shelves.  But we did get everything else we needed.

I stole a few friends pictures from Facebook to show the calm before the storm.  The first one was taken  by my friend Howard Jordan.  He lives on the the Eastern Shore and took this photo this evening.  So beautiful.

This one was taken by that Awesome DJ, Lee Ann Waterrs on 92ZEW.  This was Gulf Shores earlier today.

The latest computer models still have Mobile in the equation, but it is still too early to know where it will make landfall.

But Ollie from the family guys does have the right forecast.  It is going to rain.  LOL

Mobile County has issued Evacuation Orders for Zones I and II.  We are about 1.5 miles from Zone I.  But we are going to be just fine.  We are far enough away from the water so we are ready to ride it out.  Hope everyone stays safe.

Finally, it's here, THE WEEKEND

Are you glad it's the weekend?  I know I am.  I am looking forward to sleeping late and relaxing.

But NOOO.  This little storm in the gulf has different plans for the rest of us.

If we could just send some of the rain we expect to get from Issac out west to help with the drought, wouldn't that be wonderful?  Oh well, I guess we will get out our hurricane check list and go over it to make sure we have everything we need.  If you need a list, go here and you can find all the info you need.  I love having smart phones.  I downloaded an app today Hurricane HD that will keep me updated.

Oh well off to bed and I will see you later.

Ready for the Weekend

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday.  I am so tired on this Thursday.  Not as tired as Landen looks here, but I am tired.  Looking forward to some rest this week-end, but it is beginning to look like we are going to have to get ready for a little storm named Issac.
From the looks of things, it is headed our way.  Mom lives in Destin and I know they are watching closely.  Scott is going to work on the generator tomorrow to make sure it is up to pare and I guess I will go over the supply list to make sure we have everything we need to ride it out.

xoxo
& sweet dreams
