SOUR CREAM NOODLE BAKE

I found this recipe on ziplist.com from my favorite blogger, Plain Chicken, and it sounded really good and easy.  We are always looking for something different to try so I thought I would give this one a try.  It did not take long to make and was delicious.  It was creamy, cheesy and GOOD!!  Scott even liked it.  So much so, he went back for seconds and let's just say, I hope he does not have an upset stomach from eating so much.  LOL.   I guess we will put this on the list to have again.

Here is the recipe.

Sour Cream Noodle Bake
modified from: plainchicken.com

1 (8 oz) pkg wide egg noodles
1 lb lean ground beef
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1) Preheat oven to 350
2) Cook noodles according to package directions.  Drain and set aside.
3) Brown meat; drain off fat and return to skillet.  Add pepper, garlic salt and tomato sauce.  Stir and simmer 5 minutes.
4) Mix together cottage cheese, sour cream, 1 cup of shredded cheese and noodles.
5) Lightly spray a 9x9 casserole dish with cooking spray.  Spread noodle mixture in bottom of pan.  Top noodles with meat sauce.  Sprinkle 1/2 cheese on top of casserole and bake for 20-25 minutes.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.

xoxo
